About the Role

Meadowbrooke Church is looking for a faithful, energetic, and discipleship-focused leader to oversee our Children and Family Ministries. This position exists to help children and families deepen their understanding of God’s Word and grow in their love for Jesus Christ.

 

This position serves under the leadership of the Lead Pastor and works in alignment with the overall vision and direction of Meadowbrooke Church. The Director of Children and Family Ministries will oversee weekly ministry activities, train volunteers, and assist families in discipling their children.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee weekly children’s ministry programs (infants through elementary).
  • Recruit, train, and shepherd a team of volunteers to serve in a safe, Christ-centered environment.
  • Implement and/or develop biblically sound curriculum that aligns with the church’s teaching and discipleship philosophy.
  • Plan and execute Vacation Bible School (VBS), including curriculum, scheduling, and volunteer coordination.
  • Organize and support seasonal and family-focused church events.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with parents, volunteers, and church leadership.
  • Ensure all child safety and protection policies are followed (including volunteer screening and training).
  • Track attendance and participation to help evaluate and strengthen the ministry.
  • Work collaboratively with church staff and leadership to support the overall mission of the church.
  • Demonstrate reliability, follow-through, and strong organizational stewardship in all ministry responsibilities.

 

Qualifications

  • A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a life that reflects ongoing spiritual growth.
  • Agreement with Meadowbrooke Church’s statement of faith and vision.
  • Meets the character qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3:8–13 and Titus 2:1–14.
  • Experience working with children in ministry, education, or a related setting.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to recruit, equip, and encourage volunteers.
  • Demonstrated humility, teachability, and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Creativity and flexibility in planning engaging, gospel-centered environments.
  • Experience with VBS planning is preferred but not required.

  • A healthy, supported, and growing volunteer team.
  • Families feel connected, encouraged, and equipped to disciple their children at home.
  • Strong alignment with the church’s vision, leadership, and ministry philosophy.
  • Faithful execution of responsibilities with clear communication and follow-through.
