“Fear not.” These are the words of our Savior, found in the passage we will look at this Sunday in Revelation 1:9–20. Our nation and our world seem filled with ten thousand reasons to fear. Yet for the Christian, the One who bears the title “the ruler of the kings on earth” (Rev. 1:5) is also the First and the Last—the One who conquered death itself. Because of Him, we have ten thousand reasons and more to hear His words and take them to heart: “Fear not” (vv. 17–19).
If you find yourself feeling a bit off— anxious, unsettled, or fearful amid the many things happening in our world or in your own life—I encourage you to take some time to open your Bible to Revelation 1:9–20. Before you read these powerful verses, pause for a moment. Take a deep breath and ask Jesus, the Living One, to steady your feet on the unshakable truth of His Word.
I look forward to seeing you this Sunday in our 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. worship services.
Peace,
Pastor Keith
